Trattoria l’Osteria in Grado, Italy: Enjoy a Lovely Pasta Lunch

During my stay in Grado, the tourist board made sure I was well fed and visited some great restaurants in town like Zero Miglia and Tavernetta All’Androna. One night though, I was invited to dine at one of their hotel partners, but I must confess that I didn’t really enjoy it here. I would never have a meal in a hotel if I wasn’t staying there myself. So when I was supposed to go there again for lunch, I said I would rather have lunch someplace nice and pay for it myself.

So Christina from the tourist board went with me to one of her own favourite places: Trattoria l’Osteria and this is what that was like:

The Entree

The restaurant is located on Piazza Duca D’Aosta, which is a main road going along the historic center of Grado. There are many restaurants facing this street, so you’ll have plenty of choice!

The Interior

You can sit inside, but as with most restaurants in Grado, you can also choose the terrace. This is, of course, what we chose! As you can see, it was pretty quiet as my visit was a bit towards the end of the tourist season.

The Food

Here’s a sneek peak at my lunch:

I started with a simple tomato & mozzarella salad. Nice and fresh!

For a main, I chose the gnocci as I had been eating seafood everywhere else already. This gnocci was super creamy and made with blue cheese, which gave it an amazing flavour. The portion might not look big, but boy, I almost couldn’t finish it (and I’m a BIG eater)

Christina ordered a seafood salad, which looked amazing as you can see

Desert? Of course! A super refreshing Melon Sorbet, which I can totally recommend.

Christina went for this profiterole with berries, which gave me food-envy even though I was already in love my with own desert :D

The Travel Tester - The Verdict

I was so happy that I chose to dine somewhere else than the hotel and this restaurant was totally worth a visit. It’s family run like most restaurant in Grado and the waitress/owner was super friendly. If I ever make it back to Grado I would definitely visit here again to have the gnocci… and perhaps try some more of their gorgeous deserts ;)
